City Hall Ceremony, Just Us Four
What an honor it was to photograph Xavier and Josep at their San Francisco City Hall ceremony. They have quite the love story and I have to say I was almost taking notes from the responses to my question about how do you make this amazing love last! As a singleton, I wanted to know, really.
Josep is a Spaniard and Xavier is an “ooh la la” Frenchman and they live in Switzerland and have the bestest accents. I try my lame attempts to speak my sorely lacking French and German and Spanish on them. It’s a good laugh for all.
So, why did they marry in San Francisco? Because this is where they met 19 years ago. Why did they hire me? Because 5 years ago Xavier needed portraits for his business. These guys are the epitome of loyal!
City Hall ceremonies are not just a quick ceremony in the gorgeous building. There are interesting spots around the building and in the square. This is where we got the quirky images with these random statues that just happened to be there at the time. You never know what to expect. I certainly did not expect them to jump in and be so silly with them either. That just had to be the most fun part of the day, honestly.
One sighting of catching them looking each other in the eyes is all you need to see to know their love goes deep and true and fully. Their comfortability with each other is something you can’t miss. We had a most wonderful afternoon just being silly and honoring these two in their future together as marrieds. I’m really hoping it isn’t the last time I see them and may just have to beg an invite to Switzerland.
All the best to dearest Josep and Xavier! Come back soon!
